5 Things to Expect From a Second Interview
Many jobs require a second interview. This gives you another chance to shine and it also means the pressure is on. Here is what you can typically expect if a hiring manager calls you in for a second interview.
You Will Be Interviewed by Different People
Do not expect to speak with the same people that you spoke with on your first interview. In many cases, other members of the management team want to speak with you so that everyone can offer input as to whether you are a good fit for the company.
Second Interview = Money Talk
It is considered impolite to bring up money and benefits during the first interview. However, the second interview will more than likely involve this conversation. Have an idea of what you expect to earn in case you are asked, “How much do you expect to earn?”
You Will Get a Tour
Getting a second interview means the company is definitely interested. This means you can expect a tour of the office or facility. You will meet a lot of people and you want to make good first impressions on everyone you come into contact with.
You Will Get Some Odd Questions
The first interview generally entails basic interview questions, such as “Why do you want to work here?” and “What is your biggest weakness?” For second interviews, management will try to catch you off-guard by asking unusual questions. It is not unheard of for candidates to be asked questions such as, “What superpowers would you most want to have?”
You May Get an Offer on the Spot
With a second interview, you may be offered the position right then and there. However, hiring managers may still need some time to come to a decision. At the very least, you can expect to hear about how the process will proceed.
