Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use a staffing firm instead of applying directly to company?
When a company posts a job, the HR department is inundated with resumes. Your resume is unlikely to get the attention it deserves. Our expert team of Executive Recruiters have developed coveted relationships that enable us to provide candidates with direct access to hiring managers and match talent to the right opportunity. These relationships make us influential in the hiring decision. Our recruiters often hear about open positions before they are posted, meaning we can present you to companies early in their consideration process, improving your chances for success. The Beacon team is most rewarded when we create a role at a client based merely on our knowledge and passion for extraordinary talent. Perhaps most important, we study company culture carefully, and we only recommend jobs to you that we know are a solid fit. You can certainly apply to companies directly in your job search, but chances are your resume will not be prioritized and might even be overlooked.

Will my resume be sent out to a potential employer without my knowledge?
Never. Your Executive Recruiter will always contact you to discuss job opportunities before submitting your resume to potential employers.
How long might it take to find an opportunity?
Our clients contact us with immediate openings every week. High-demand positions typically fill more quickly. After meeting with an Executive Recruiter and evaluating your skills and goals, the process can move rapidly to the finish line. Your background and experience, geographic flexibility, and other qualifications affect the time it takes to find the right opportunity.
What happens once I submit my resume for a job opportunity?
When you submit a resume online, your information will be immediately routed to the appropriate Executive Recruiter for your area and selected opportunity. Our team will review your information and if you are a match, contact you to schedule an interview. If you are not a match but have the expertise our clients are looking for, we will contact you for consideration for potential opportunities.
How does the application process work?
Once your resume has been submitted and reviewed, we will contact you to begin the comprehensive interview process. As part of this process, you will meet with an Executive Recruiter who will get to know your industry-specific skills and business acumen. During the in-depth interview, we also explore your career goals, talents, and intangible assets. Once we have determined that you meet our rigorous criteria, we confirm your expertise by speaking with references and performing a detailed background check. From there, you will be entered into our talent database and will be considered for opportunities that suit your technical and secondary skills as well as goals and interests.
It has been awhile since I updated my resume. Do you have any tips?
Your resume should follow a standard format, showcasing career progression, education/credentials, and technical skills. Additionally, make sure your resume is formatted consistently, has proper grammar and spelling without boxes and tables. Please present your resume in chronological order and clearly indicate dates associated with each position and milestone. We accept resumes in either Microsoft Word doc or PDF formats. While we are not a resume service, we will do our best to work with you to ensure your resume is polished and ready for presentation.
I still have questions. Who can I contact?
